The Alliance Française de Pittsburgh, founded in 1903, is a non-profit
organization, member of the Federation of Alliances Françaises in
the United States. Its purpose is to encourage the study of French
language, literature and francophone cultures and to promote activities
in the fields of education, the arts and entertainment.
As our
name implies, we strive to "ally" ourselves with people
of all nationalities. With 1,100 Alliance Française chapters in
130 countries, the cultural presence of France reaches out every
day, strengthening ties between countries and creating better understanding
between people everywhere.
The Alliance
Française de Pittsburgh has over 400 members and offers classes
and programs that are open to all without discrimination. We offer
a variety of social and cultural events and programs in French and
in English.
